i know che is seen as a revolutionary hero, but a lot of people don’t realize he said some really racist and classist things about Mexicans and Indigenous people. in his own diaries, he described us as passive, superstitious, and even ‘inhumanly dark.’ he called Mexico a country that had ‘prostituted itself to American interests,’ and looked down on the poor and Indigenous as ignorant or backward. It’s important to know that before putting someone like that on a pedestal.. especially if we’re the people he saw that way.
