@styleitprettyhome: Can you believe we’re already in Week 3 of my husband’s bathroom makeover? This week is a BIG one — tiling the floors, adding picture frame molding for that dark, moody, fancy vibe, and painting both the walls and the ceiling! Since I’m tiling over the existing tile, here’s what you need to check first before deciding if it’s a good idea: • The existing tile is solidly bonded (no loose or hollow tiles) • The surface is level and flat • There are no major cracks • The existing tile and grout are in good condition If any of those aren’t true, demo is the safer route. Luckily, this floor passed the test! Here’s how I prepped the floor for tiling: • I lightly roughened up the existing tile surface to create better grip • I applied Eco Prim Grip as a bonding primer • I’m using a modified mortar to set the new tile Taking the time to prep properly is the key to making sure everything holds up over time! Also, I’m doing something a little bold — green walls and a green ceiling. I’m honestly loving it, but I have to ask… what do you think about the green-on-green look?
