I am writing this letter as a Nepali citizen to express my concern about the recent tensions between India and Pakistan, especially the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor. I feel that the Indian government has accused Pakistan of the Pahalgam attack without any concrete evidence. Also, no clear evidence has been made public regarding the claims that India suffered its own losses during Operation Sindoor and that the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack were killed. This is my personal opinion, but transparency of such serious allegations and military operations is of utmost importance for regional peace and stability. Considering the historical relations between Nepal and India and our shared cultural values, I trust that the Indian government will adopt a fact-based and transparent approach on such sensitive issues. In this context, I would like to raise the following question: Question: What is the concrete evidence holding Pakistan responsible for the Pahalgam attack and claiming that the perpetrators were killed in Operation Sindoor? How will making such evidence public help reduce regional tensions and clarify India’s position? I hope that the Government of India will demonstrate its commitment to regional peace and stability by responding to this question.
