I find this very disrespectful. There was a year I celebrated my 12 yr daughter’s birthday, we had decorations and a few of friends attended and before we left the next morning we cleaned it all up.

As an ex front desk agent yes the hotel usually keeps the deposit. yet they still don't tip the house keepers. and half the time people lock the cards. So the hotels can't charge the fee.
