unpopular opinion: tips should not be based on the cost of food. Serving someone an $8 salad requires the same work as serving someone a $40 lobster. giving someone a lobster doesn't deserve an $8 tip

Bartender here, average $350 on a 10 hour shift. There is an insane amount of mental and physical work involved with serving, if you don't want to tip then run through a drive thru or stay home.
