I hang up and always go into the institution that it’s regarding if I have an account or concern with it never stay on the phone at all. I had one with the local police department and they try to keep you on the line the whole time.

when I was a police officer I had a case like this, they pretended to be federal law enforcement and had the poor victim so scared she sent physical cash to multiple random addresses across the US.
