When our son is old enough to understand, we plan to not applaud effort. We don’t want a people pleaser. So if he draws a picture, instead of saying “oh my gosh I love it, it’s amazing”. We will say “do you like it? are you happy with the effort you put into it? (Unless the picture is specifically made for us)
