I worked as a kitchen porter when I was 18 at a cafe attached to a garden centre and the chef there genuinely thought he was Gordon Ramsey 🤣 I used to fantasise about bouncing a panini off his head and walking out every shift 🤣🤣

The amount of chefs who don't work to this calibre but still shout and scream as though they do is laughable. I've worked all ends from Michelin to cafe and the ego of the chef is massive.

Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsay have massive egos which have to be massaged by making people feel small. Raymond Blanc has no pretensions , produces excellent dishes which don’t resemble a chemistry experiment and comes across as a decent, humble person.

I've always said this. I remember seeing Gordon Ramsay's early documentary about him opening his first restaurant and it was horrific the way he treated people. and everyone thought he was fine.

I own a restaurant but before I was a skipper of a fishing boat so we had lots of young men wanting to be fishermen men and I loved learning them the job , hospitality is hard but nothing like fishing xxx
