I guess I never understood why they didn't just numb the area.. Numbing agents aren't narcotics and aren't addictive, but I guess that wouldn't have made a good story line

anesthesia is not a narcotic. anesthesia (without any pain meds administered) will not give you a high feeling, or even a good one. so no reason to not be put under

I admire her dedication, but id rather go through rehab again with both my legs 😦 vs being an amputee for the rest of my life. Addiction will always be a risk, I want to be at my 100% to deal.
