My son also has autism and communicates in delayed echolalia. For once, I feel like I’m not alone. 😭💖

I’m a level one autistic here. Can I just say I’m so proud of him! He is working so hard to communicate and process. Love it! Since he has internet aunts, can I be his Internet uncle?

He is so sweet! I am a special education teacher, and some of my students have echolalia. One thing that helps for us is sentence starters, I'll say "I feel..." & wait for them to fill the gap

You’re a really great mom. The way you deescalated the morning was truly amazing. That boy is so loved. You are both lucky to have each other. What a team 🖤

I had a client that would repeat everything I said. I would say, “I love you, Josh” & he would say, “I love you, Josh.” Finally I figured out if I would touch my nose when saying “I love you, Josh”

I've never experienced the repeating in this way, can you talk a little more about it? I'd love to learn and understand better! if it's not too much. I could understand it might be frustrating answering questions all the time.

Genuine question, why does he repeat your words? By doing that how do you know what he wants?
