💥 ♡ VISIT WITH BRIAN GRACE'S DADDY ♡ 💥 Well our drive started with making the kids sit in the back seat together because they fought all morning at home while Mom was trying to get things done before leaving. The hope was for them to sit next to each other long enough to just have to get along.....it worked! 😆 When we got there Brian was patiently waiting and there were lots of hugs and smiles. 💗 We went down to the art room, the kids and Brian played some football. After football, Grace and Brian played some piano together while Grant and I played go fish. Brian asked me by mouthing and gesturing that he wanted water. So I went and got him water, which they have to put a gel in it to thicken it because he can't quite swallow completely yet like most of us can. They also gave me his dinner to give to him which was pureed broccoli and mashed potatoes and gravy. Grace begged and said she wanted to feed Dad so she did.....for 2 minutes and then said "Mom, can you just feed Dad?" 😂 So I then helped him eat, he fed himself a few bites but then asked me to feed him. After he ate we went back down to the area near his room and Brian looked through my recent pictures and videos of the kids on my phone.....swiping through on his own.....while the kids ran around and played. It was nice seeing some facial expressions on his face while looking at pictures. The kids and I then went and got some food and they played giant Tetris again while we waited for our food. We then went back to the nursing home and Brian was sleeping in his wheelchair. We woke him up, we asked him a few different things and he gestured that he wanted to go to the art room with us so we brought him down there with us and he slept the whole time. We stayed for a little over an hour hoping he would wake up again but he was out, so we wheeled him back down by his room and called it a night. Saturday we spent most of the day down in the art room with Brian. He slept most of the day again in his wheelchair. But we wheeled him along wherever we went. The kids and him played some football. Brian played some Bingo and I Need A New Butt with us. I played a bunch of jokes on my phone for Brian and he was cheesing 😁 so hard and he kept asking for more! Grace wanted to feed her dad his Swedish meatballs, carrots and mashed potatoes and gravy and once again that lasted a whole 2 minutes 😆. Grace asked the staff to put Brian on the couch and then she fed him a ton of fake food and the kids got Brian to actually vocalize yes and no. He did tell me that it hurts when he tries to talk. There was a time in the middle of the day that Brian told all 3 of us to leave. I was confused so I asked him about 5 times if that is what he actually meant and he said yes. I was shocked and Grace became very upset. I tried explaining to Gracie about how maybe sometimes Dad's brain isn't working like it should be. 🤷🏽‍♀️ We gave him some space and I went back to talk to him by myself and he acted like he didn't realize he did that. I brought the kids back to him and he apologized to them. So I'm really not sure where that came from. 😔 We stayed with Brian until about 10 p.m. Saturday night and he kept trying to block us from leaving. Today, Sunday, when we got there he was still sleeping so Grace woke him up and they got him ready for the day. As soon as Grace woke him up he was trying to get himself out of bed, he was ready to go. Once he got ready we once again wheeled him everywhere we went waiting for him to wake up because he was sleeping again. We waited 3 to 4 hours and decided we should head home. He did play football for a very short time with Grant and Grace. Overall again he is still very sleepy and it doesn't seem like his strength in his legs have improved at all. He did keep saying that he's doing bad but he still seems to be in decent spirits though. 💙💙💙
