instagram has always been like this. there used to be a whole tab where you could see what people you follow were interacting with, it was great, i never forgave instagram for getting rid of it.

I think a lot of people have started mistaking social media as a private sphere. Even if your account is private, it’s a public sphere. You don’t retain privacy rights in a public sphere
