a few that have descended from secretaria they are beautiful horses he's even got them over here in western Australia because that is where we are then they come all the way back to secretaria and his dad

And yet no one remembers the second greatest thoroughbred horse of all time Sham cause he also raced in 1973. Secretariat only won at Belmont Stakes (the last of the 3 races) by 31 lengths cause Sham broke a bone while running alongside Secretariat. It’s sad had Sham been born any other year he would be a triple crown winner

Secretariat’s heart was twice the size of a normal horse. It’s attached to the X chromosome so every filly he sired had that gene. It’s why his descendants are so popular

He was one of the most sought out sires of his day, so was his dad. It's really not that shocking of a fact. Most premiere TB bloodlines go back to Secretariat or one of his siblings.

Seabiscuit & Secretariat are related to Man O War’s Sire Fair Play, and so has nearly (if not all) triple crown winner since. Seattle Slew, American Pharaoh, Justified, ect. & everyone that can close

my mom worked on a Fram that had a granddaughter of Secretariat, they put her up to a race against an average race horse and gave him 10 sec head start, the jockey said it sounded like freight train-
