It’s been my experience that adding a water base to a tincture still molds. Maybe I did it wrong? I made ice cubes out of mine, and would melt one (1 oz) when needed and keep the left over in fridge until used.

So 100 proof is 50% water and 50% alcohol. You're pulling both water and alcohol constituents. If you add the water mixture to 80 proof( 40/60), you have too much water, it molds .Not shelf stable.

I have done this double extraction process with usnea but not wild lettuce. I haven’t actually found wild lettuce yet in my foraging. Fun to do!
