As a non native speaker, this is one thing that doesn’t make sense to me at all. Push forward for me is ahead in time (2pm), push back - means go backwards from 12 to 10am.

I’m moving toward the meeting, and the meeting is moving toward me. Forward relative to me is the future, but forward from the meetings perspective is the future perfect.

I agree that if we use push, it’s moving forward, while pull is backward. How do you push the car? Backward? So to me, if you push it 2 hours forward, its 2pm.

The German word übernächste doesn’t solve anything. We have the same confusion in German if nächster Montag refers to the upcoming monday or the monday next week (which may or may not be the same)
