As a student who graduated from an alternative high school we all called the teachers by their first names and we we’re actually treated with the respect the adults got as well

When my kids were toddlers, my two oldest suddenly started calling me and my then wife by our first names. We didn't make a big deal about and they stopped on their own after a couple weeks.
