Sa 3yrs ko here sa work ko, my boss NEVER asked for a reason sa leave req. as in never. She even thanked me for taking a time off kapag medyo drain nako. Btw she’s american.

I had a former workmate on his 2nd day he was told that his mom died. He didn’t want us to inform our boss about it since he’s just starting with our company, but we cannot afford to just keep it a secret. But our boss did gave him his bereavement leave and he was informed to take his time to get some rest and everything. When he returned suddenly both his grand parents was hospitalized naman and he was at lost and didn’t know what to do he wants to quit his job since you know he is still grieving and all of a sudden another challenge arise. What my boss did was to gave him g.y shift so that he can look after his grandparents who’s in the hospital. Our boss made sure that everything was in accordance to his needs.
