for halsin portal defence get gale or your wizard to learn wall of fire, sleet storm, fire ball, and wall of stone, use a arrow of darkness on the portal so the enemies can’t shoot it (when the portal is in darkness the enemies can’t target you or the portal and have a paladin or fighter cleaning up the monsters that spawn close to the stairs and have shadow heart with spirit guardians standing on the bottom stairs 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Cleric with Spirit Guardian (Radiant) and Blood of Lathander posted up near the portal and if your feeling extra saucy get a hunter with spike growth and a wizard/sorcerer with tentacles. Slows their movement while also damaging them and anyone who does manage to get through is finished off. More than likely the lack of movement speed will end the (ง’̀-‘́)ง before you even kill all of them. Just pass turns lol

I just made it here last weekend. I'd just gotten the lighting jabber a couple hours earlier. Had only used the returning pike for throwing before that. My second throw I was on the beach aiming towards the portal, and missed a throw for the first time I think ever. Realized 30min later that I never received it, go back to the beach, nowhere to be seen, and that's when I remembered the miss. Yote my brand new toy straight into the sea my second time using it. I shoulda realized that was a thing you could do.
