Nah forreal I was too palangi to be with the Polynesians but too Polynesian to be with the palangis. But it grew my understanding of people in general to where if you can’t accept me step away.

it's usually the family members are the issue. closed minded and think their toot don't stank 😂. Tongans can be very judgemental, especially towards their own family.

Kind of relating in a way - I was always shaded for being skinny 😂😐 apparently being skinny made me “fie palangi” it was weird. But also said it the same shady tone & side eyes causing the feeling of being an OutKast

You’re feelings are very valid sis, I have an older sister who is half Tongan and half black. Growing up she was addressed that way too but we were too young to understand and now as we’re adults- we’re always making sure folks/family know she’s just our sister and nothing more. She always had the same issue you went through and I believe it’s mainly because of the mentality of people. Embrace both, and don’t let that affect you from being addressed a certain way. It’s a them problem and not a You problem love you ♥️
