I never told anyone names for this reason. When my twin boys were born they didn't look like the names I had on my lists so looked for others, people gave suggestions and when I mentioned the names they were going to be, people hated them. Thinking back I wish I had gone with them because they were cool names and whilst they didn't look like the names then they would suit them now 😭😭😭

We just named our son Errol, the amount of rude comments we have received AFTER he was born. I’m like surely as a grown adult we all know to not be so rude - apparently not though. Defs why we tell no one the names we like, as people always have an opinion.

I had my auntie steal my top baby name, we were pregnant at the same time. and then the name we picked most people didn't like it and made it known to us they didn't like my son's name.

I told my husband I wanted to call our son Lenny, he said it was terrible, went to my husbands dad and told him and he loved it. We now have a son called Lenny. Has its perks 😂😂😂😂

My family didn’t like my son’s name before he was born but once he was born they loved it. Obviously doesn’t matter about the name because they love the baby. ❤️

I didn’t want anyone to say they hated it and make me then not like it. When I’ve love it for years. So we never told anyone. Only pregnant friends. Just giving them a heads up that this is ours.

I refused to share baby names because of this. When I was pregnant with my first, my MIL was really pushing for us to tell her. I said i didnt want opinions but gave an example of the type of name 1)

My partner told my mil and then fil we were wanting Hugo or August… both made fun of August and laughed at Hugo. I was so set on August but we just couldn’t bring ourselves to use the names after that

We named our boy Poseidon. We knew that it’s a different and unusual name so we didn’t tell a soul until he was born as we didn’t want their reactions to change how we felt about it! It’s nobody else’s business at the end of the day!

I have been using the strategy of replying “you’re one to talk look what you named your kids” even if I like their names whenever they say something negative about my girls names 😅

I was happy to share my name list and I told my family members that if they made any remarks in a negative way that that would put that name to the very top of my list. it soon became known "don't make any negative remarks or they will choose that name" 😂 I am stubborn and if you don't like it? good, it's not for you 🥰
