@thetrampoline.club: ‘I wasn’t smart, I was lucky’ - TO BE HUMAN We’re not that different after all. Here are some vignettes of real lives getting real about life.
This is the most thoughtful thing someone in Singapore has said in years.

Maturity is acknowledging your privileges, and not undermining the struggles of others. Everyone is on their own path and struggle. We need more people with such mindset

my daughter had a Scholarship but still have to work to sustain herself and discovered she was dyslexi in her 30s. she lost 4years of income because she want to study fulltime and work parttime. Her results was good she is smart but because I was more focus on her Dad than on her, she is a late bloomer, I give her all my support now. More invested in building a good relation with her and divorce her dad and cut off contact completely. He is not worth it just a no good man😁

Yes! I went to Sec 1 and met someone who had to do Primary 8 coz she had to look after her siblings and the household. She was an intelligent, sweet and kind girl with all the life skills that I lacked. She was just dealt a harder start to life. I hope she's well today. Would so love to see her again.

That is so well expressed. So much empathy and understanding. Thanks for the reminder that everyone is struggling, one way or another.

Can confirm this is true. But life has a way of balancing things out. Friends that didn't do well in school, did well in work. Some healed their trauma, some don't.

Truth bomb release. That’s why whenever I see people telling me how hard they did to get where they are, I scoff when I learn about their upbringing and their definition of “hard” is just saving $2

My sister is richer, her children slacked in school but ended up doing business like the dad. Mine have to study hard & ended up as salaried workers. I feel sorry for my children. They deserve better

The founder of Sony once said: “What gave you the belief that your 10 years of studying should triumph over my family’s 3 generation of hard work in the business world?”
