@southcarolinaaquarium: The sun came out over Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge as we released Waffle and Thistle into the protected saltmarsh waters! ☀️ After more than a year of rehabilitating at the Aquarium, tackling severe fungal pneumonia and showing incredible resilience, Waffle was finally ready to return to the big blue. This little green sea turtle was the last of our “breakfast food” sea turtles to be released, making this much-awaited trip even sweeter 💙 While we continue to welcome more and more patients into our care this stranding season, YOU have the chance to play a critical part of our 25th year of saving sick and injured sea turtles.
