Hobbles. Are. Not. Abuse. Hobbles teach horses to stay calm when their in restricted situations. Most hobbles are not tight around their legs they still have wiggle room it just not enough walk normal

HOBBLES. They are used for many reasons. Historically it was so horses could still graze while out and about moving cows. They're more often used for desensitizing these days but that's not all

Hobbles tend to be used on younger horses I believe from 1-2 to train them to stay safe if something gets caught on their legs. People rarely use hobbles to keep a horse in an area because 1/3

hobbling horses is so abusive. if you can’t trust your horse to not run away, don’t leave them in the open. if that horse falls or WORSE, gets snagged on something, it’s over for that poor baby.
