this is why at the place I work at front of house turns the "please seat yourself" sign over to "please wait to he seated" to avoid this. although some people aren't very good at reading. have had people still seat themselves like we aren't on a wait list and then get upset when we tell them they have to get up and be added to the waitlist

I once got so tired of people sitting at dirty tables. I got a blank checkbook set it down on the table and said “No rush whenever you’re ready”, they said “We haven’t even ordered yet” I gasped….

Literally was mopping a section that i was in the process of closing and after i was done dude standing nearby started walking into the area and said “ah yes i want to sit in the clean area”. I just looked at him and said “well that one there’s clean these are closed”. Threw a little fit ab it. Mind you less than 20 minutes left before close
