To clarify. They have the same name, but are owned by different companies, the north of Ireland version of tayto is family run, the republic version of Tayto is owned by a huge company called Intersnack which is a German snack company. Republic tayto owns the name and the mascot but there is a licensing agreement ( 💰) so that north tayto can use the name, mascot etc …. Hope that helps 😊

Fun fact but prawn cocktail flavour crisps (et al) generally contain no prawn/shrimp whatsoever, rather the tomato-based sauce used to make a traditional prawn cocktail dish. 😊
