@rdusg: Elections are not just about votes. They are moments of reckoning. They force us to ask: what went right, what went wrong—and most importantly, what must come next? For RDU, GE2025 laid bare what mattered. We stepped up with solutions. We proposed the Citizens’ Dividend. We pushed for a healthcare system that puts care before cost. We offered a new social compact—fairer, stronger, more humane. This is why we felt opposition unity was important—in fact, key—for GE2025—to provide real checks and balances on the PAP. We kept emphasising that in the lead-up to the GE. Because voters can only make a real choice when the opposition presents itself as a credible, united alternative. What I found most worrying was how some parties took their eyes off the real issues—making it about protecting turf instead of standing with the people, and on principle. That’s why we walked away from The Coalition, even though we co-founded it. We refused to be part of something that had lost the plot. We negotiated and fought for #NeeSoonGRC from another opposition party—because we felt it wasn’t a place to campaign on issues which are less important to Singaporeans. It’s the turf of the Law and Home Affairs Minister. And we made sure the campaign there focused on what matters—bread-and-butter concerns and civil rights. We spoke to the leadership of the SDP and stepped in to contest Holland–Bukit Timah GRC when we heard they were withdrawing. Because someone had to challenge the class divide—the real divide in Singapore—not get distracted by imported culture wars. Holland–Bukit Timah is a fortress of elitism. We went there to say: ordinary Singaporeans deserve to be heard too. We were the first on the ground in #JalanKayuSMC. But when The Workers' Party told us they wanted to contest there, we stepped aside. Why? Because they were better placed to raise questions about NTUC and workers’ rights. The result? For us, it has always been about what’s good for the people—not for personalities, not for the party—always the people. That’s why we made way for a straight fight. An NCMP from that ward is now going to Parliament, and we’re proud of that. We played a significant part in making it happen. We fielded a well-qualified young man—a 25-year-old new citizen working as an engineer in an MNC—as one of our candidates. In preparing for #GE2030, this is the path we will now walk. We will call out hateful politics—loudly, clearly, unapologetically. We will not cooperate with any political party that divides Singaporeans or distracts from the real issues. We will work across party lines for the benefit of Singaporeans—even with the PAP where necessary. But among the opposition, we will only collaborate with parties serious about building a better future: WP, SDP, and PSP. And we will build—on the ground, in the community, with our values intact and our eyes fixed on the long road ahead. The people of Singapore deserve an opposition that doesn’t fight for seats—but fights for them. 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. I refuse to believe that Parliament should have a supermajority of whites. I will do my best to convince the voters of Singapore that we need another more credible, reasonable opposition force in the House. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Towards that, we will reimagine, rebrand, reinvent ourselves to serve Singapore better. Towards this, I invite Singaporeans to come walk with us. Donate to us.
