had to do this last week, asked my son to try and cough whilst patting on his back, it worked eventually, very easy to panic in these situations

My daughter choked on a gobstopper at 9 and I am still traumatized from having to give her full on thrusts to get it out. She’s fine but man it was traumatizing

The police pulled this off. Every parent should get a class of how to give the Heimlich maneuver to a baby and toddler. This could be done right at the hospital.

Consider using gravity to your advantage. Bend the child forward at the waist while using back thrusts.
