As a microbiologist I NEED you to know how right you are, the most common ingredients in the medias we use are Agar (a really firm gelatin made from seaweed), salt, and sugar. And ofc cheese is milk fermented by bacteria. So yeah, that is basically the edible version of a bacteria culture 🤣🤣🤣

I had this growing up. there's also a thing called Cherry Yum Yum which is basically the same but with "white cheese" and you add maraschino cherries and use cherry jello instead
