I think the idea of capitalism only works when everyone starts and is on equal ground, which to me, isn’t possible since it was also built on decades of societal and institutionalised discrimination.

Communism in its nature is favored by lazy people, Capitalism is not only just about individual profit it's also about rewarding those who work harder than others. It has its flaws but anyone can climb the class ladder of they're not lazy.

a socialist society doesn't equate what everyone gets paid but rather takes what should be going to shareholders and redistributes it to sectors that would benefit everyone( hospitals, schools, enfustructure and a decent living)..a cleaner would get the same healthcare as an accountant, a cleaner would have housing but the accountant would a bigger and better house
