@babyfais: I posted this question on Threads and it’s been super interesting to see what people are saying. A lot of people were saying that content creators have a niche and it takes a lot of time and effort and you need to have a good camera, etc. and a lot of people have a negative connotation about influencers. But it’s super interesting because in my eyes it seems like the influencers were like the OG content creators but are viewed negatively where as content creators are viewed more positively.. Everyone these days wants to be a content creator, but a lot of what they do it’s really the same when you think about it. It’s fascinating!! What do yall think?! #contentcreator #contentcreatorvsinfluencer #imbored
content creator makes interesting content, influencer sells you things by selling themselves

influencers have tons of followers and are widely known but the public, content creators are small and anyone can do it

Influencers have made their life everybody’s business. Content creators could just be working in firm promoting their specific product

I believe the difference is intent/purpose. Content creators publish their craft in order to connect and engage with people that have similar interests, goals, etc. They prioritize community. Influencers use their platform to promote brands/products. They prioritize brand partnerships. I picture it as a Venn Diagram where there is decent overlap, but I think where the bulk of the content lands is what they are.

an influencer tackles trends, whereas a content creator shares whatever they want without worrying about if they're going to go viral or set a new trend ot not
