Save water. We're going to run out this year. Driest start to the year in 90 years.

I would replace the lawn with flower beds. Lawns are mostly dead space in a garden anyway, unless you have kids. Better to have something real and beautiful than dead & artificial

I'm sure in the UK, that we have enough common sense, to dig up the dead grass and replant new grass

if it genuinely doesn't impact the environment/wildlife then why not. It isn't for me, but is possibly better then plastic turf if you like an aesthetically pleasing lawn

Not needed in Ireland. Ours is green 10 or 11 month of the year. Sometimes even 12 months

lawns are a bad idea to begin with, monoculture is never good for the environment.

Most of california is in a drought. I'd rather they do this than waste water on aesthetic grass 😂

Painting g the lawn is a California thing. We should not normalise it by talking about it.

I have seen it done in the uk, but with a green liquid seed/fertiliser mix. Easy to apply and it looks better as it’s coming in.

back in the 90s in the UK people would use 'spray on mud' on their range rovers, perhaps they still do. nothing surprises me about this 😂

Or you could just use native plants suitable for your environment instead of trying to turn the desert into a golf course

in Australia. we get artificial turf or me and many like me plant native ground cover instead of lawns, 1 its drought tolerant, 2 they are edible, 3 they suffocate weeds. 💪 the only people with old fashioned lawns are boomers 😏

the grass being dry and having a coating on it combined would surely make an absolutely horrendous texture to walk around on. just get fake grass at this point
