Give your jeans a refresh for Spring with this easy upcycle diy project! 1️⃣ Pre-wash jeans, and keep fabric damp. 2️⃣ Fill a large pot with hot water, 1 cup of salt, and 1 teaspoon of dish soap. There must be enough water to fully submerge the jeans and stir them easily. 3️⃣ Put on rubber gloves, and shake dye bottle well. Add half a bottle of Rit All Purpose Dye in Lemon Yellow to pot. 4️⃣ Place pot on stovetop, and set to medium heat. 5️⃣ Add jeans to dye bath. Stir jeans constantly for 30 minutes and make sure all areas of the fabric get submerged evenly. Use tongs to help separate any folds in the fabric. 6️⃣ To lock in your color and reduce bleeding, use RIT ColorStay Dye fixative. Fill a sink or bucket with 3 gallons of hot water and add half a bottle of the Dye Fixative. Move jeans immediately from the dye bath to the prepared Dye Fixative bath. Stir jeans for 20 minutes. 7️⃣ Rinse jeans in sink with cool water until water runs clear. 8️⃣ Wash jeans by hand or washing machine (by themselves) with mild detergent and warm water. #ritdye #upcycle #thriftflip #fabricdyeing #reworkedclothing
