This is actually a really interesting question. They tell you you’re a woman once you get your period. But when I got mine at 11 I just felt like a little girl who is now bleeding once a month.

Personally I feel like there’s no one defining moment that makes one feel like a woman. For me, I register I’m a woman every time I use my voice to stand up for myself or others, every time I laugh with my friends without worrying about how I’m perceived, every time I go through my period and realise my body is reminding me to rest and to slow down, to feel the simple joys of life as I reconnect with my body, every time I look at the moon and feel moonlight on my skin. It’s in all the small moments that make me embrace my inner femininity and make me realise that I exist, I am capable, I am worthy and I matter. It’s a collection of every moment of my life that makes me feel things so deeply that I know I am alive. It’s indescribable and utterly beautiful 💓

When i asked for staying at my cousins house… my COUSINS house… and my mom said no because her dad lives there. Her dad. My aunts husband. From what i knew… my uncle until that day. Now he’s just my aunts husband because my mom told me from that day that there’s a difference. I was 7. I’m 30. Never forgot that moment.
