the problem is he's too clingy and not letting Maomao settle down to the fact that he is her father, considering the fact that she's much more close to her adopted father, she's not close to her mother as well because both are not present in her childhood and most of her time growing up she can't force herself to accept them

I think she feels so incredibly uncomfortable around Lakan because she was neglected as a child and never shown real affection, so when he came later in her life and was trying to be close to her it just creeped her out. She doesn’t know how to build close relationships
