academia and critical thinking are huge parts of catholicism. i was taught to read the bible critically, to understand translation changes/historical contest/the JEDP. i’m so thankful for my teachers!

Teaching critical thinking is opposite of religion though. Religion is what got us here. Taught to believe out of “faith” instead of caring about truth or evidence.
