not judging, i respect your opinion but i think that they were both great characters, evn tho i prefer damon, rhey were different but both just wanted to protect the ones they cared about. the truth is ppl always say stefan is better bc he is warm hearted and damon is cold but with elena damkn is pure and cute and thats so beautiful, they both were HORRIBLE at some point of the show and both were GREAT at some point of the show, they both made mistakes but they would anything for each other in the end

First off before i cook u all stefan stans ik damon had his flaws too, Not only is Damon clearly hotter, but he was also the better brother and the better man. People love to blame Damon for killing Lexi, Stefan’s best friend, but conveniently forget that Stefan killed Damon’s best and only real friend, Enzo, not once but twice. Damon never blamed Stefan for it, never turned on him, even after that kind of betrayal. Yes, Stefan was trapped and drowned in a box for three months and Damon didn’t come for him, but why does no one ever talk about how Damon was tortured in the Augustine labs for five years? He was locked in a cell, experimented on, and tortured every single day, and Stefan never even looked for him. And when Damon finally got out, he didn’t even tell Stefan what he went through because he didn’t want him to feel guilty. That is real strength and selflessness. People act like Damon stole Elena, but the truth is Elena chose Damon. And when Katherine possessed Elena’s body, Stefan kissed her not once but twice, knowing full well that Damon and Elena were still together. So if Damon was wrong for flirting with Elena back when she was with Stefan, then what is Stefan for kissing a girl who was literally in a relationship with his brother? And if we’re being honest, Stefan also kissed Katherine even though Damon loved her first, before she ever compelled him. So if you want to talk betrayal, Stefan has done it too and worse. Yes, Damon has killed out of pain and anger, but Stefan has turned off his humanity and gone on ripper killing sprees again and again, murdering hundreds if not thousands. Damon never threw it in his face, never judged him, never used it against him. He accepted Stefan fully, flaws and all. People say Damon was selfish for wanting to turn Elena into a vampire because he didn’t want to lose her, but they forget that Stefan also wanted to turn her just to get back at Klaus. So if Damon’s selfish, what does that make Stefan? And people love bringing up how Stefan had it rough because their mom left, but guess what? Damon went through the same thing.
