A part you left out was that a large part of British India provinces didn't have a say on what country to be a part. It was decided by a British lawyer, Cyril Radcliffe, with no previous knowledge of the cultures and split them somewhat on religious ideologies in a very messy way. Calling it messy is a massive understatement

The original mistake. Kashmir( A Princely state) is and was a Moslem majority territory but led by a Hindu Maharaja. The Maharaja initially wanted to be independent and when that was unachievable, he tilted towards India.

There wasn’t an attack by Pakistan but the maharaja or the king for whatever reason decided to go with India and Pakistan helped us Kashmiri people to save us from India and till that day Pakistan does says that Kashmir should be for Kashmiri people only. The Ruler of Kashmir was Hindu while the majority of Kashmiris were/are Muslims. So the Mahraja against the will of the people joined India m, thats why the conflict is not over to this day

Check your history again. All were given a choice to join Pakistan or India. As Kashmir was mostly populated by Muslims, they chose to be with Pakistan but the Hindu Raja who was ruling Kashmir decided otherwise. That is the start of the conflict

you missed an important part..most of the Kashmiri people are muslim, not Hindu. Pakistan have consistently said that Kashmir should have a referendum to determine their own destiny whereas India is blocking it.

The bit he is missing is that during partition in 1947 the princely states (which included Kashmir) were divided on religious grounds. Kashmir is Muslim and should have gone to Pakistan. The Prince was Hindu and went against the interests of his people
