Was diabetic with 7 A1c. Reversed it in 3 months, now at 4.7 for the last 3 months. Just ate fiber before every meal, upped my protein and lowered carbs. Still ate rice but like just a cup every meal. Dropped all beverages and only drank water.

If you are in the US, you’re considered pre diabetic with an A1C of 5.8, but not in Canada.. funny huh?

Good that you catched it early on! You're definitely not in diabetes medication territory yet, good idea to optimize your diet. Do make sure to rule out type 1 diabetes, by getting a C-peptide test. Roughly speaking, if it's low that indicates type 1 and if it's high it indicates insuline resistance / type 2.

Just found out today that after a focus on high fiber, 0 snacking, weight training & daily physical activity for the past 6 months, my a1C is down and I’m no longer pre-diabetic 🎉

In all honesty what was your diet like? I’m pre-diabetic as well, yeah I eat bad 😅 but I’m interested to see everyone’s different POV of what lead them to pre-diabetic? Mine is also linked to NAFLD but just weirdly my body stores the fat on my liver nowhere else and I only weight 173 so not overweight so my doctor is like yeahhhhh we gotta do something to burn the fat on your liver as it’s affecting your blood also AND my liver enzymes too.

I’m a dietitian and I would be cautious of following a keto diet, it’s very possible to reverse your prediabetes while still eating adequate carbohydrates, which are super important for someone as active as you! I’d recommend meeting with a registered dietitian and focusing on more protein and fiber at meals, and choosing complex carbohydrates. Also getting adequate sleep (7-8 hours) and reduce stress can help

Ask for a c peptide test to see if it’s actually type one! 💙

focus on high fat med protein and low carb and zero sugar.
thank me later .
it's the only way (carnivore has too much protein which converts to sugar by the liver and it's bad for the kidneys)
all these other nutrition experts and dietitian who recommend plant based or carbs are clueless

My question is what prompted you to go get blood work done? Just curious, was it how you felt or did someone suggest it?

WHY DO PPL HATE CARBS.🥺 just a simple plain baked potato with nothing on it is FIRE. Carbs are not bad. Putting tons of salt n oil or greasy cheeses can be another story.🥲🥲

Saturated fats are linked to insulin resistance so you might want to limit those too. I’m t1 and have been t1 for most of my life and I notice I become way more iR when I have a lot of saturated fats
