When travelling on trains with your suitcases put google maps on wheelchair access to avoid stairs with luggage 🥰

If you run out of suitcases space do not buy another one. Go to Ikea in Shibuya and buy a duffle bag for 300yen and save yourself the money

in Japan right now. been here for a full 2 weeks. so here are mine: • pack light. most hotels have essentials like body wash, shampoo, conditioner, even HAIR TIES. bring essentials, but don’t panic if u forget anything. they have it all here. • explore. obvi book reservations if u desire, but explore!!! get lost!!! it’s beautiful. • it’s okay to be a tourist. don’t let people tell you to do this or do that. do what YOU want. even if it’s “touristy”. • GOOGLE 👏🏻 MAPS 👏🏻 helped me to find places and how to get from a station to the next.

Go to a Lawson or Family Mart and get some foot patches for pain and wear them every single night while you sleep and you will have no feet pain. Take it from a bigger guy 🫱🏻🫲🏼

Hear me out, my husband and I bought gifts for the flight crew and they were so graceful they gave us an entire row to ourselves and a huge bag of first class goodies.

if you’re landing at narita and need transport into the city i recommend the Keisei Skyliner! gets you there in 45 min. very good prices compared to uber! there’s also busses you can get tickets for on Klook, but they take longer

I’m here rn and I’ve been here almost a month. Pack close to nothing u can buy everything here for super cheap. Leave all ur skincare home bc the products here are better and a fraction of the price of what u would buy them for home. Def check out don quiote and give urself a good 5 hours there no joke.

PACK NOTHING!!!!!! usually toothbrushes and razors and stuff are provided by hotels and anyway they are so cheap from konbinis ($1-$3). just a couple of clothing essentials, good walking shoes, and shop the rest🤭 also airporter is a good alternative for yamato , so easy to use to forward luggage to other hotels and the airports.

As someone coming from the states I was used to electronic payments/cards but here a lot of places are cash only so always be prepared (also helpful for public transport). Also, stay on top of notifying your bank, if you have one in the states, that you are ‘traveling’ to Japan. Even if you’re living there, if you dont notify that you’re abroad than you can get a fraud alert and not be able to pull out cash!!

Don’t buy souvenirs from Don Quijote they more expensive! Just get them from souvenir vendors on Harajuku Street or at a drugstore they’re literally the same. I bought a cap for 900 yen, and Donki was selling the exact same one for 2,800 yen!

invest in fiber drinks or buy fruits/veggies to eat as light snacks or you will be backed up like crazy if you're always eating out

everyone is saying pack light & i agree however keep in mind that asian sizes are SO much more different than US, especially for women. things tend to run small/shorter so pack the usual amount just in case! :)

We just came back from Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka!! SUICA WALLET CARD IS A MUST. It saved us a lot of time, easy to reload, easy to use. I preferred Apple Maps to google maps(my preference), pay attention to what line you’re supposed to use when using subway station and pay attention to the platform. For instance there’s always platform 1 or 2 one way goes north other way goes south vise versa. If you get on wrong platform it’ll take you away from destijation

Sucia card, Google translate, hokas bc you’ll walk 20k+ a day, fanny pack with a fan, soap, small hand towel, hand sanitizer, small bag for shopping, Google Maps for getting around especially for trains(main form of transportation) & AVOID trains during rush hours so before 8AMish and around 4/5pm! 💘
