That’s actually so when an aircraft mechanic is walking the plane out they can maintain communication with the flight crew. It’s just a cable between the headset and the planes comms.

My buddy who is a commercial pilot told me That the push team leader. His headset is plugged into a port on the bottom of the plane

I actually found the real answer, its a direct line to the pilot, he plugs his headset to it to communicate with the pilot, and they carry it like a leash to keep the plane from rolling on it.🥰

that's just the new guy.. the guy on the cart pulling the plane gave him the very important job of holding that rope so the plane's tire doesn't run over it... all the new guys get those type jobs... don't ask questions . lol

so another tiktok told me it's not a rope he is plugged into the plane and talking to the pilot directing him and telling him when they are good to start the engine 🤷♀️
