If u are already on any visa route, being it 5yrs, 7.5yrs or 10yrs, this proposal isn't supposed to affect you. When this finds its way to become law, it should be starting with new visa applicants. It is not supposed to be retrospective. However, from the way these guys are behaving, they are likely to say it is going to affect anyone in the system. Thus why lawyer used the statement, "it is very unlikely to affect those already in the system". So nobody should jubilation yet.Being quite far away from it becoming law is just a pampering statement. They can do this in less than a year.

Sir, if you get your indefinite leave to remain last year June 2024 and it will make a year this June 2025, can you apply for your citizenship/British passport in July? or is the new law going to affect it, if you come to the UK through sea 23years ago?
