I’ve waited for my kid to be asleep and VERY carefully used and xacto blade to cut just the layer of skin over the splinter and then easily removed it. No bleeding, no crying; they didn’t even know.

soak in warm soapy water well past prune stage. it'll fall out in the water. I never pulled a splinter from any of my kids- just gave em a long bath soapy bath

This happened to my daughter. I gave her Tylenol, Benadryl, gave her a long bath (soak the feet and let the meds kick in) then when she was asleep I got the tweezers out. She slept though the whole thing

Postpartum nurse here. The pharmacy sells an aerosol spray called Dermoplast. We give it to women that have lacerations after delivery. It numbs the area. I have used it on my kids for splinters. It’s amazing.

My mom used to sterilize a sewing needle and dig splinters out of my feet/hands. 😅

If you cut the tip off one of the medicine syringes and angle it tightly over the opening, then slowly pull back the plunger it should draw the splinter out. We’ve had luck with this method anyway.

Maybe this is old school but I had a splinter like that in my foot once as a kid (boat docks and bare feet DONT mix) my mom used bacon fat. Next morning the splitner came out easy and pain free

Update: I tried the medicine syringe & a little came out but there is still a piece stuck at the very bottom that the syringe couldn't get. I think it's too deep? Plus she is squirming her little foot so much it's hard to keep a seal for the suction.

mine did this around 3. I just held her down like I was in an alligator cage match while she screamed and my husband watched in HORROR. as soon as it was out and I let her up, she sat up, stopped crying, and said it didn't hurt at all. 🙄🤦🏻
