The generic clomiphene hasn’t sit in my pharmacy in a whole, we just get clomid, the Rph may be new and just didn’t know about the generic since it’s not stocked. They might’ve been misinformed but they probably genuinely didn’t know

I don’t work for Walgreens but I am a pharmacist- I paused the video bc I was curious what the drug was lol. She was just bad at communicating. The generic was completely unavailable in the market for a long time and only the brand available. Generally we will always order a generic unless you or your dr specify otherwise.

Chorionic gonadotropin, (or Pregnyl is the brand name you’ve probably been receiving) is technically available in generic formulation. The paper handed to you is printed from their warehouse stocking website, which shows the warehouse has none to send to them. They could order some for you, but it would sit in their computer system for continuously ordering itself for weeks as there’s no medicine available to fulfill the order. The medicine was substituted for Pregnyl, as it is routinely stocked in warehouse.

Clomiphene (generic for Clomid) hasn't been available for over a year now. So yes, there WAS a generic, but no it's not available. GRX is also a suggested price, it won't always be the price that the website lists.

you weren’t lied to, that’s a fertility medication which is usually only serviced through specialty pharmacies. I work at specialty walgreens and if that’s a limited distribution drug (meaning only specific pharmacies can order it), then you most def can’t get it at a retail location. also why didn’t you bother to call the pharmacy in advance and give your goodrx information prior to pickup.. you said it took a week.

Also Goodrx is manufacturer specific but you have to call them to find out which mfg. There can be a lot of difference in price. Example is different mfg Epipen generics.

Every single medication ever has a generic name. Brand name exists due to trademark. This does not mean the generic is available in the marketplace or available to order.

new generics are released all the time. it can take MONTHS for them to become available for order after that. ex: generic Vyvanse came out fairly recently and our vendor didn't have it in stock for 3 months

GoodRx is not always accurate and can be specific with the price for each generic drug. There also may be a generic but it is not always available to order.
