Neurotypcial people don't understand ADHD at all. Alot think it's bouncing around and been hyper. I went undiagnosed until 33yrs old and was always told I was to much. No I was nuerodivergent x

I put my 15 yo daughter’s adhd diagnosis in three years ago. Had to renew it this year, because it’s been “lost”. At primary school, I asked if she needed assessing for a diagnosis, they said it was a “phase”. They were wrong. She is struggling. I am failing her.

I raised with school the fact I thought my daughter had adhd in year 7 they started to take me seriously in year 9 she was not diagnosed h til she was 16 it’s been a long and at times invalidating process

a big issue is parents not wanting to hear their daughter might have ADHD and only see the label

I find many think it's a 'bandwagon', which devalues the very real struggle. The reality is, it's hugely under diagnosed, especially in females. We're playing catch up

we used to tell all the kids a child with glasses has this accommodation. kids with ADHD or ASD have different accommodations but does not make them special

This is so sad. Although awareness of ADHD has increased, there are many, even professionals, who do not recognize it in girls.

I’m literally fighting this fight because my 6 year old has adhd but isn’t “bad enough” to meet criteria for school to push for testing or echp, doctors won’t test till she’s at least 8 😓 I’m still undiagnosed at 31 and the doctors basically said you got this far why bother 😓
