I'm Afrikaans but I know that I'm not African I'm born here my nationality is south african but my ethnicity is Scottish. The so called "Refugees" think they are the only ones affected , everyone in SA is affected!! As a New Yorker who traveled to Durban SA, 😭 I absolutely loved it. Note, I did stay at a YT Afrikant owned airbnb, but they were cool too. Told me not to leave my windows open because of the cute native monkeys and not to feed them. But, I did end up going into the not so nice BLK areas with this blk girl I met who was my age. My driver was Indian and afraid -- he thought I would be in danger there, but then he chilled out and realized it was all good. They were living not so nice, but they didn't do anything crazy. God, I loved Durban, SA. My tour guy was blk, he was the sweetest. All the restaurants I went to had blk ppl and they were so nice (Unlike my American Blk folk, no shade). It was amazing over there and so much lush, not so city. The air was cleaner, our suburbs could never -- ok. Sighs ... -- Signed a Blk NY native, who loved South Africa.
