If you want an actual breakdown, teachers are paid by the gov. A century ago, they were getting bank. And the teachers who are now in their 80s are still getting retirement checks from the government to this day. So, the government has been slowing decreasing the pay of teachers and other gov funded jobs because they don’t have enough money to support new teachers and the old teachers on retirement. So now we are at a point where the pay has decreased so much, but inflation has increased so much, that it’s no longer a livable wage. I know a 70 year old who travels out of the country multiple times a year because she was getting paid so well and is still getting paid (again due to the retirement pay they receive) as a regular teacher.

Exactly my mom is a teacher and I always talk about this with her cause it's not fair how little they get paid.
