If someone believes having a disabled child is unethical because they would have a poor quality of life, then THEY SHOULD BE FIGHTING TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF DISABLED PEOPLE! The problem isn’t that disabled people exist, the problem is how they are treated!

As someone who’s chronically ill. I wouldn’t wanna pass my genes down BUT I think it’s extremely important that I get to make that choice myself. the state shouldn’t have a say over how I use my body even when I’m sick.

My disabled sister turns 30 this year. She’s the longest surviving person in the US with her condition, and it makes me think that there would be others even older if society didn’t demonize disability

What disturbs me most about this topic is the number of people who think that a disabled person can’t live a complete and fulfilling life. That their life experience is somehow lesser, and so much so that it should not be experienced. It makes my blood boil.

I'm actually really grateful to you for making me think about this topic. I've proudly said that I don't think poor ppl should have kids bcuz I was born into poverty and thought it wasn't eugenics if it wasn't law. Now I see that conversation is pointless bcuz it won't stop anyone from having kids they can't support, only forced sterilization can and I don't like that. it's much more productive to look for a way to end poverty. I'm also 19 so just know you're making the youth think❤️

I'm disabled. It's hereditary. I'm not having kids. I suffer so badly I cannot describe. I don't have a normal life. I feel very little joy. Why would I want to pass that on? I haven't heard an argument that makes me feel differently.
