My mom has been making this for me since I was a little kid and we always called it fried bananas and it took me a long time to figure out that they were actually plantains used to always get confused when there were brown bananas and my mom wouldn’t throw them away. turns out that’s just how plantains should be before being cooked. They are more brown.

It’s always so difficult to explain to people the difference between a banana and a plantain ESPECIALLY IN SPANISH since in Guatemala we call plantains plátanos but apparently in Mexico plátano means banana 😔💔

I use butter and brown sugar with a bit of cinnamon, and cook the bananas for a little bit in that, then eat it with vanilla ice cream, and pour the sugar Carmel on ice cream so it hardens 😍
