Visiting Texas right now. Austin, Houston, then Dallas. New construction here is horrible. Held together with duct tape and gum. Would never buy here

As a Texan living in DFW , I can summarize what happened. Homes 5 years ago were $250k which matched Texas wages. Then California moved here simultaneously when interest rates dropped to 2%. Bidding wars happened over homes, lots of cash offers that drove up prices.
