@queen___justice: Wasn’t planning on sharing these today. But boy how life has changed since 2020. I was two semesters shy from graduating w my associates in criminology when I fell pregnant from a Sa and that alone changed my life forever not to mention we were entering a start of a pandemic that would change so many lives. I was 22 years old unsure if I wanted to keep the pregnancy let alone become a mom. I didn’t really see the point in continuing school anymore. I was in a position where I didn’t believe in abortion though I had people in my ear telling me it was the right thing to do. For the longest I was back and forth between adoption. Then I had them. These two beautiful baby girls that were not to blame of a shitty situation. They were mine and only mine. For the longest I lived this life of fear. With this mentality of because I’m a mom my future wants doesn’t matter because I need to live and breathe for them. Then I met an amazing man. A man who’s loved not only me but them as his own. A man who’s morphed them into huge daddies girls. A man who believed in me and my dreams. He has loved me and supported me every step. A man who gave me the push I needed to go back to school and continue my education. Some of you will look at this and say “it’s just an associates” but it’s more than that. It’s me coming out on the other side of a dark path and everything being ok. It’s me building a future. It’s a step closer to future degrees. It’s me not letting anything define me. My first semester back (last fall) I made deans list. This semester I’m on the road to making Deans List again! I’m graduating with my associates in Criminology and it doesn’t stop here. Amazing beautiful things have poured and continue to pour into our lives. I’m going to keep succeeding and building a beautiful future, because I want my kids to look at me and see a strong, badass, resilient mother.
